A group of students from the Soshanguve Technical School of specialization, North of Pretoria have built a state-of-the-art train, powered exclusively by solar energy. A pilot solar locomotive that promises a travel speed of 60 kilometers per hour.
The train has 4-solarpanels, powering a 46 volt battery pack driving a large-single scale motor. The train travels within the schools railway line, with more prototypes being developed, expanding into larger, more robust adaptations of this revolutionary electrical and mechanical marvel.
